General

  • What is the contract term for short lease?

Shortlease is an attractive alternative to leasing or renting if you need a passenger car or commercial vehicle for a shorter period of time. At Shortleaseland it is possible to conclude a contract for a minimum period of one month and a maximum of 24 months. This makes short-leasing a lot more flexible than long-term leasing and often lower priced than renting. After the agreed term of your contract, it can be cancelled per month.

  • I am a starting entrepreneur and would like to lease, what are the options?

As a starting entrepreneur, you are very welcome at Shortleaseland. Together with you, we look for a suitable solution so that you can hit the road within a short period of time. We do not need annual reports: trust in our customers is of great importance to us.

  • Can I go abroad with my lease car?

You can drive in your lease car in most of Europe, but you do need a green card for this. You can easily request this via contractbeheer@shortleaseland.nl. In addition, some countries are excluded. Would you like to receive more information about this? Please contact us at 088 700 1888.

  • Can someone else drive my lease car?

Someone else may drive your car, this is no problem at Shortleaseland. However, we would like to receive a copy of the person's valid driver's license, so that we can add it to your file.

  • Can I terminate my contract free of charge?

We use a 1 month notice period. There are no additional charges. This way, we ensure that you as an entrepreneur can work flexibly. You can terminate your contract by filling in the form on this page. Would you prefer a different car, are you unsatisfied or do you have any questions about the contract? Then you can contact us via the telephone number below.

  • What is the notice period?

You cannot terminate the contract before the end of the agreed contract date. However, you can indicate in advance that you want to terminate the contract after the end date. If you do not do this, your contract will continue and can be canceled monthly.

Lease

  • What is short lease?

Short lease is a form of full operational lease, but for a shorter period of time. Maintenance, roadside assistance and motor vehicle tax are some of the things that are included in the agreement. You can lease a car starting from a period of 1 month, but you can of course also choose to conclude a contract for a longer period of time or extend the lease each month. This means you get more flexibility, without having more to worry about.

  • What is your process?

After submitting your quotation request, an adviser will contact you and discuss the possibilities with you. Once you have found the right car, a contract will be drawn up. The adviser asks for your driver's license and bank account number to keep the process going. As soon as you have signed the contract, the application will be processed and any missing information will be requested. As soon as we have received all the necessary information, we will process it and email the invoice for the deposit and the 1st monthly installment. You must pay this invoice before the due date. As soon as the payment is visible on our account, we will forward the request to the planning and we will contact you by telephone to set a date for collection or, of course, delivery to the desired location.

  • How does the registration process work?

When you start driving you will receive an ascription report. This is a temporary registration certificate until you have received your registration card. You will receive an email as soon as the license plate card is on its way; this may take several working days. Look at here how the registration process works.

  • How do invoicing and deposit work?

After you have signed your lease contract, you pay for the order confirmation. This means that you pay the prepayment on your first monthly installment and have paid the deposit. You will receive a separate invoice from the deposit, stating that the deposit has been paid. The day after delivery you will also receive a separate invoice for your first lease installment - this may differ from a regular monthly invoice. This is because the first monthly term can be shorter or longer than a calendar month.

We invoice per calendar month; our billing date is on the 22nd of the month. If you drive after the 22nd of the month, the following month will be included in the invoice. If you drive before the 22nd, the invoice will have a period of less than one month and will be lower than your prepayment. In that case, you can offset the remainder of the prepayment with your next monthly invoice. Look at here how billing and deposit work.

  • Which lease form suits me best?

Which lease form suits you best depends entirely on your specific situation and your wishes and needs. Are you looking for convenience, are you looking for tax benefits or are you looking for a quick solution for the short term? Please contact our lease advisers. They will help you make the right choice.

  • How many kilometers can I drive with my lease car?

You determine the number of kilometers you are allowed to drive per year. This is documented in the contract. The annual mileage is converted into a monthly mileage. If you drive more kilometers, an additional price per kilometer will be charged. Do you exceed the permitted kilometers every month? Please contact us to see if the kilometers in your contract can be increased.

  • Which details do I have to provide?

To receive a quotation, we need your personal details so that we are able to contact you. This means that we at least need your name, telephone number and email address.

BKR

  • How does a BKR registration work?

The BKR (Central Credit Registration Office) registers all loans above € 250 that run for longer than 1 month and registers whether people pay on time. This information can then be requested by companies when someone wants to take out a loan. Based on this data, companies can determine whether a person is taking on a too heavy financial obligation and whether this person can therefore get a loan or not. If you are behind on payments or have debt mediation, you will receive a negative BKR registration. For instance, a negative registration can stand in the way of a (long-term) lease contract or a mortgage application.

  • Can you short lease with a negative BKR registration?

At Shortleaseland, we know that as an entrepreneur you will be faced with various challenges. These can ultimately result in a negative BKR (credit) registration. Even though you can request to have the registration removed, it remains difficult to lease a car in the meantime. In this case, short lease is a great solution. Most of the time, leasing a car with a negative BKR registration isn't a problem at Shortleaseland. This way, you are still provided with comfortable transport in the short term, without having to worry about long-term obligations.

  • When do you receive a BKR registration?

Every loan of more than € 250 is registered with the Central Credit Registration Office, in short the BKR. This also applies to a debt on your credit card, being in the red on your bank account or buying a product on installment. A lower limit of €1000 has been set for business loans. If you have ever not repaid a loan or if you have ever been late with paying a loan in the past, you will receive a negative BKR registration. In principle, a mortgage or student debt is not known to the BKR, unless you are behind on payment.

  • Why is it often not possible to lease with a BKR registration?

A (negative) BKR registration often remains visible for a long time. Even if you have now fulfilled your payment obligation, it can be difficult to take out a new loan. This also applies to leasing a passenger car or commercial vehicle. If you are going to lease, the leasing company often assesses your financial situation in advance. If an external credit rating agency sees a negative BKR registration, your lease application will be rejected.

  • Why doesn't Shortleaseland do a BKR registration?

At other leasing companies you often conclude a leasing contract for a longer period of time. Since short lease is an agreement for the short term, this doesn't apply to a short lease contract. In addition, the contract can be cancelled monthly after the agreed term. This means that you can immediately forgo your payment obligation if your financial situation has changed or if you no longer need the lease car.

For customers

  • How do I know when my car needs maintenance?

Maintenance is included in your short lease contract, so you don't have to worry about additional costs. Behind the sun visor you will find a maintenance card showing the number of kilometers at which your car requires maintenance again. Some cars also display a message on the dashboard indicating that the car requires maintenance. Look at here what to do in case of maintenance, damage or car breakdown.

You can easily request maintenance via the website. After this, one of our employees will contact you to schedule an appointment.

  • Is delivery on location also possible?

We can deliver your vehicle anywhere in the Netherlands, for a small additional charge. Of course you can also choose to pick up the car at our location. This is at Havenstraat 28, 5347KK in Oss.

  • How quickly can a car or commercial vehicle be delivered?

The big advantage of Shortleaseland is that we have more than 500 vehicles in stock. This means that a car or commercial vehicle can usually be picked up or delivered to your home within 24 hours. However, it is possible that the desired car is currently not in stock and will only be available later on. In that case, our advisers will help find a suitable (temporary) solution.
